High School Workshops

"Counterproof Press provided a welcoming, creative and engaging experience for our students. Their professionalism and enthusiasm were evident as they managed the logistics of walking 18 high school students with diverse abilities smoothly through the printmaking process from design idea to final print. At no point were students waiting around or "lost" in the process, all were engaged and left with a real sense of pride and excitement in what they had created."

"...the facilities were amazing, the faculty extremely knowledgable, efficient and Fun!"

Counterproof Press recently secured a competitive Provost’s Academic Plan award from the University of Connecticut, allowing the press to fund on-site workshops for high school students and teachers through 2019.  These opportunities provide an entry point for many students into the art of printmaking, while offering teachers the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and skills in a dedicated environment.

Counterproof Press’s goal is to inspire an appreciation of the craft, while encouraging cross-disciplinary collaboration of UConn’s creative departments and the local high school community.

If you have interest in bringing your group or students to the printshop, please fill out the workshop form.
